This workshop is geared to anyone who is interested in learning more about how infant and toddler mental health impact the lives of children and adults, how to early childhood trauma affects lives of children, teens and adults, and how to prevent serious mental health issues from occurring later in life.
The content of this workshop is built for parents, foster parents, adoptive parents, case managers working within the child-welfare field, guardian ad litem staff members, adoption specialists, social workers, therapists, counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, mental health workers, and anyone who comes in contact with children in the mental health field.
By the end of this workshop, participants will b...e able to:
~Identify four different attachment styles and their associated processes.
~Describe the impact of insecure and disorganized attachment on an infant’s and toddler’s life.
~Identify ten different ways parents own trauma history and environment plays a role in a young child’s life.
~Define developmental trauma and complex trauma and will be able to distinguish it from reactive attachment disorder.
~Understand the advantages of early childhood trauma treatment.
~Distinguish five key differences between a healthy and an unhealthy attachment of a infant and toddler to their caregiver
~Identify at least three tools they can use to screen for attachment and developmental trauma related problems in infants and toddlers.
