For some homes, the dining room is only a place where fancy china, seasonal place-settings and decorations are on display. However for the Churchill family, the dining room is where warmth and love is shared… and secrets are both kept and exposed. It’s Thanksgiving and the entire family is gathered at the matriarch’s home. As the family shares what they are thankful for, things begin to take an awkward turn when a shocking secret is revealed. Now, the family must make choices in each of their households. How long can each household of the Churchill family say “what happens in the family stays in this family” until everything leaks out in the dining room?

WHAT IS NEW VOICES?
Inspired by new play development programs across the country, New Voices aims to develop the next hot American voices right here in Jacksonville! Through a yearlong process, playwrights selected by a national panel have the opportunity to develop their new scripts from conception to final draft, culminating in a fully mounted production of their new play.
“In order for a playwright to know if their new play is going to work, they need two things — a space and an audience,” says Bradley Akers, who created New Voices for PBTS back in 2016. The birth of New Voices has paved the way for writers across four counties (Duval, St. Johns, Clay & Nassau) to emerge and apply to have their work selected, workshopped, developed and produced. The inaugural year of New Voices was a success, as Kelby Siddons’s Madame Bonaparte and Drew L. Brown’s Sentences took the stage after a year of development.
