Please join us for our May Sierra Club meeting to be held Thursday, May 31, 2018 in the Southeast Regional Library at 10599 Deerwood Park Blvd, Jax, FL 32256. We will be in room B. Social time is from 6:30-7:00 with the program starting at 7:00pm. All are welcome. Free.

In his presentation, The Conservation Movement in Florida, Jonathan Webber details the collaborative and successful effort to pass the Water and Land Conservation Amendment in 2014, followed shortly thereafter by the Legislator's misappropriation of LATF funds. Jon discusses some of the successes and setbacks the conservation community has experienced in the years since then and some of the ongoing efforts to restore funding to Florida Forever. He will also be talking about wins from the most recent Legislative Session and how the conservation community can begin to prepare for the upcoming 2018 Elections.

Jonathan Webber, Deputy Director: Jonathan Webber is the Deputy Director of Florida Conservation Voters and has worked in electoral campaigns and conservation communications/politics for nearly a decade. He attended The Florida State University for graduate school where he attained his master's degree in Applied American Politics and Policy.
