This course is primarily focused on wildlife researchers, biological technicians, zoo professionals, students, and any others interested in learning about handling and restraint of venomous reptiles in the field. This course is 3-days in length and involves the following:
Hands on practical experience with venomous reptiles…
Survey methods for venomous reptiles.
Safe restraint methods.
Collecting sampling data, such as scale clippings, blood samples, length, and weight.
Radiotelemetry discussion and uses (not enough time for tracking)
Methods for relocation.
Emergency field care for envenomation.
