An all-American program from the much-lauded German-based American conductor Kazem Abdullah. Duke Ellington’s Three Black Kings, which he called a “ballet for orchestra,” opens a program spanning a broad range of our own music, from Barber’s familiar Adagio for Strings to Liebermann’s new Cello Concerto, co-commissioned by the Jacksonville Symphony.
