The APS Conferences for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP) are a set of regional meetings for young women interested in physics. The University of North Florida's Department of Physics will host the Southeast regional CUWiP from January 12-14, 2018 for undergraduates from throughout the Southeastern U.S. and Puerto Rico.
The 2018 CUWiPs are professional conferences featuring talks by prominent female physicists, student research presentations, and workshops on topics topics such as summer research, grad school, physics careers, and professional development, as well as opportunities for networking and informal mentoring. You will have the opportunity to network with over 200 fellow undergraduate physicists as well as many leaders in academia and industry in an environment where all can share their experiences, advice, and ideas.
This conference is held for a $45 registration fee to offset the cost of food and lodging which are provided by the host site. In cases of need, a registration fee waiver form is available. The link to a waiver form will be provided in the registration.
Travel expenses are typically covered by your department or institution. If you are unsure about who to ask for funding, you might ask an academic advisor, faculty member you know, or other mentor for guidance. If your department is unable to provide full funding for transportation, travel support may be available from the CUWiP sites.
We hope that you will join us for this year’s conference to showcase your own research, explore career opportunities, and connect with other women in the physics community!
