The public is invited to view the Moon, planets, stars and other night sky wonders with faculty from the Physics Department and students from the Astronomy Club. We start with a half hour talk. The topic of this night is:
«Recording The Great American Solar Eclipse»
Prof. Hewitt will recap the photos and videos that were recorded during the total solar eclipse of August 21. A partial solar eclipse is visible from Jacksonville. You can find more details at: jaxeclipse.org
Observation takes place on the roof, so dress comfortably and for the outdoors. There is elevator access to the roof. All ages are welcome. Telescope viewings can only take place if cloud cover permits. Check the website the day of the event for updates: unf.edu/coas/physics/Observing.aspx
No reservations are needed, but we will limit the number of people who are on the roof at any given time if needed.
